A twilight affair

Hello beautiful people ! Its been a while, but am back with the promise to upload more often- within fashionable possibilities of course ! 🙂 

My post today is a juggle between a favourite and/or a fashion edit. Favourite, since it features my favourite beach to go to during sunsets and fashion coz it showcases what I would generally wear to an impromptu semi formal weeknight dinner.  

I generally like a walk after dinner as its that moment, which gives you time to reflect back on the day, to plan your next, and to get those precious pins moving 😉 However one of my favourite places to generally go is- The Mordialloc beach. Mordialloc Beach is the southern section of a 4 km long beach running from Mordialloc Creek to the bluffs at Mentone. This beach has some of the most insanely beautiful sunsets, that i would want to witness every single day.

So this particular weekday, i took a walk after dinner at twilight, along the shores of Mordialloc beach. The outfit is not something i would ever wear to a beach, but given the fact it was so close to my restaurant, almost empty and the sun on the verge of sinking, casting my favourite orange and golden hue everywhere- my outfit was the last thing that was going to stop me from taking a quiet saunter and feeling that smooth sand beneath my feet. 

Given it was a semi formal Tuesday dinner, the urge to throw on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt was overwhelming, but making a tiny effort to be presentable has its own set of perks. My ensemble is anything but remarkable, but, as you see its accentuated by my multi layered neck piece. Accessories have always been my key to upping any ordinary outfit to that extraordinary standard. 

One of the other things that I am supremely fond of is checkered shirts- people who know me, know I need to stop buying them asap. But you can’t deny how amazing it makes you look and feel (minus the school shirts by the way, no pun intended !). So i have paired my tartan printed checked shirt that have an array of colours from this fabulous, street style brand called The Fifth, with my bottle green formal shorts from Zara. The last set of touches were ofcorse the necklace from a handmade jewellery shop that i got in Bali (can’t recall the name) and some white Birkenstocks. 

The effort was technically minimum that i would generally put to pull together an outfit. Nonetheless, i do want to mention my favourite makeup item that actually packed a punch to the whole look and feel of the outfit- The Too faced chocolate soleil medium/deep matte bronzer. I generally don’t mention makeup in my blogs, but this one was just too good not to spill out, just as you see the effects under- and who doesn’t like some chiselled cheekbones ? As they say- “fake it till you make it ;)”

Thank you for coming along my beach walk and here’s to hoping that you found some impromptu weekday dinner inspiration. Its always good to take a step back, take a breather and walk that isolated beach just to yourself, I promise the feeling surpasses just about everything else.
