Saturday

This weekend, I bring you a double edit. This feature was shot during winter and currently, its a sweltering 32 degrees down under, so please feel free to get inspired and give it your own magical twist.  First thing that strikes me over a weekend is coffee and the last thing that ever strikes me- is to style the mop on my head. So in these edits, I am trying to “rock” a bedhead- quite literally!

I love high waisted pants, they exude a mix of class and chic. Wear it to work or to a girls night out or even to those three course dinner parties, for it strategically masks those stubborn areas, and you know… we all need it! But it can sometimes go a little askew if not paired properly. Especially for someone like me, who is blessed with a tiny torso! In order to manage this “dire” situation- i wore a high necked crop top with some geometrical pattern to give an illusion of a taller torso. I have, as usual kept to bare minimum jewellery- save for a diamanté ear cuff. I am also wearing  pair of tan block heeled moccasins, that were a hand-me-down relic from my aunt. The leather is tanned with time, is vintage and probably exquisitely crafted at some local shoe store for the British in Calcutta- ah the history!

Sunday

All we want sometimes on a freezing Sunday is to hibernate indoors in a bunny onesie and and a hot cuppa, but life is brutal and we have to attend that special  birthday lunch.

Winters are that time of the year when you have to exhibit your style without looking like a frump and it has always, unambiguously been a challenge for me. I am a summer girl and styling during those frigid winter months, in all honesty, takes an awful lot of my precious time. My key trick however, has always been a good winter jacket/coat and a red lip. Just as Bill Blass once quoted “When In Doubt Wear Red”, throw in a good jacket to the mix, and I promise you, the recipe is designed to upgrade the most basic of looks on a rainy day.

I am wearing a suede cape coat from one of my favourite Australian online boutiques- White Fox Boutique. I have chosen to wear a blue top that has some intricate lace detailing and as the material is see-through and I am wearing a darker blue bralette from Urban Outfitters underneath.

To give it that tad bit touch of glam- I have chosen to wear a faux leather pant from Dotti, that has a very edgy golden zip detail on the sides. Lastly to finish off the ensemble, I am wearing my favourite chunky ankle boots from Windsor Smith and silver bar earnings from Witchery.
