I don’t know why it took me so long to feature something i love so much- matching separates, two piece and co-ord sets. I would wear them everyday if i could. So it only seemed apt that I bring out a new feature in ode to these beautiful garments corresponding in pattern and texture.
Co-ord sets are bold and feminine in equal measure, found in stunning prints like checks and florals; to neutrals and pastels, twin sets in mesh, knit, lace and faux leather – trending off-late, is the baddest selection of coveted co-ordinates in the style hemisphere. These versatile matching sets mean business and you can always wear them solo or team up with its twin set for instant head to toe woah !
My style is hardly ever feminine and floral, but sometimes its like a breath of fresh air to done in clothes that bring out your “girly” side. So i chose to kick-start this series with a floral green two piece set from Zalora- a brand exclusive to the one-stop online fashion store, Iconic.
The pleated, full skirt balances the fitted bustier for a flattering silhouette. Since its still chilly in this side of the planet, I topped it with an emerald green blazer from Forever New. The loose fit of the blazer gives it a relaxed, laid-back feel but the outfit could have easily been dressed up with a studded leather jacket or a structured coat with shoulder pads.
I am wearing a golden watch by Marc Jacobs for accessory. You will notice i have kept this look absolutely simple, sans accessories- as this is how i choose to dress sometimes in Coords. There is so much functionality in this ensemble, its actually fine to go naked in terms of accessories or keep it minimal at best. Also, if tousled hair was an accessory, I am wearing it to the best of my ability as well 😉
Finally I am wearing some wedges by Novo. This simple feminine outfit can be dressed up or down, to a lunch date or brunch with the girls. Its versatile, chic and simple. Sometimes simple is pleasant and delightful and can be worn without inhibitions and doubts like- “what do I wear with my green skirt today?”
I enjoyed creating this post, as this was so unlike me and it was good to step out of my comfort zone. But I do like to take some calculated fashion risks, so fret not, I shall be back in my comfort zone soon enough and create fierce, rebellious styles that sit straight with my persona.
